Abena Amoako-Tuffour  is a solo and group dancer of traditional and modern Ghanaian dances and step (or stomp). She is an enthusiast of various African dance genres including Soukouss and Eskista. In 2004 she formed Lady Step- a step team based out of St. Francis Xavier University with whom she performed at numerous events throughout Nova Scotia.  She studied traditional dance such as Kpanlogo at the University of Ghana in 2005/6 and danced with Toronto-based group, African Dance Ensemble in 2008 for a year. In more recent years (2013) Abena has danced with Halifax group, Umoja Cultural Diversity Drummers.
