Katie Dorian is a Halifax based theatre creator and actor. After graduating from Dalhousie University with her BA Honours in Theatre (2011), Katie enrolled in the Professional Training Program in Circus Arts at Atlantic Cirque. She has performed professionally in Halifax for 4 years. Select past credits include: Tecumseh as a Doorstop (Ajar Theatre), Titanic: The Untold Story (Anthony Sherwood Prod.), The Attaining Gigantik Dimensions (Zuppa Theatre), If One Night: A Collodion Remedy (Wheelwright Theatre) and Rozencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (Lion’s Den Theatre). Katie has also performed circus and dance in Atlantic Cirque’s Decade, and with Aviatrix in Nocturne 2013.
In 2014, Katie was Emerging Artist-in-Residence for 2b theatre. During that residency Katie created her solo show (on the topics of ageing and dementia) How Often Do I Dream… which won Best Solo Show at the Atlantic Fringe Festival (Halifax, NS) 2014. In the summer of 2015 she toured her performance to the Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Victoria Fringe Festivals, and continues to take the show to high schools in Nova Scotia and conferences outside the province.
