Originally from Truro, Nova Scotia, Rachel O’Brien is a Halifax-based music director and pianist for musical theatre, cabaret, and classical repertoire. Over the past year she has co-Music Directed Neptune Theatre School YPCo’s Les Misérables: School Edition, as well as Seussical: the Musical (Halifax Regional Arts). Her selected credits include: over 100 performances of Anne & Gilbert (The Guild), Evita and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Blind Faith Productions), Disney’s Mary Poppins (Theatre New Brunswick’s Senior Musical Theatre), and Legally Blonde: The Musical, and Hello Dolly! (Garnet & Gold Musical Theatre). Rachel graduated proudly from Mount Allison University in 2017 with her Bachelor of Music. Most recently she was grateful to visit to Brockville, Ontario to play in the orchestra for their Musical Theatre program’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar. This summer Rachel will be on staff teaching musical theatre to all ages for Neptune Theatre School’s summer camp program.
