Tessa Short is a choral conductor and vocal teacher based in Halifax, NS. Tessa studied voice at Acadia University (BMus 2013) under Paula Rockwell and Dr. Christianne Rushton, and studied choral conducting under Dr. Jakub Martinec at Memorial University (MMus 2018). She has been involved in Nova Scotia Choral Federation programming since 2010; she sang in Nova Scotia Youth Choir four times, sang in Canta Mara once, and has taught at the NSCF choir camp. She has been fortunate enough to have a wide variety of musical experiences and influences, and has found it invaluable in her conducting education. Tessa has a particular passion for healthy vocal technique and a strong sense of community in her ensembles.
