Like the beautiful northern lights after which she was named, Aurora Scott possesses a rare and magnetic presence that has been captivating audiences since she was a child. Originally from Annapolis Royal, she began her performance career in music, dance, and drama on the stage of King’s Theatre, when she was just twelve years old.

Determined to become a professional performing artist, Aurora acted in theatre productions, underwent extensive training in Latin & Ballroom dancing, and completed a diploma in jazz studies, becoming a jazz vocalist and graduating with honours, from the Victoria Conservatory of Music in 2011.

Her passion for working with children and people with complex barriers brought her to Iqaluit, Nunavut, where she worked as the Music Director at the Iqaluit Youth Home and provided music, dance, and other therapeutic programs for individuals at the Iqaluit Adult Group Home.

During the global pandemic, Aurora left the international stage to become a recreational therapist. In 2021, she returned to Nova Scotia and created Annapolis Valley Dance Company, with a specific goal in mind – to bring Latin dance to the Annapolis Valley and to make dance accessible to all Nova Scotians.

Today, Aurora’s mission in life is to “be a loving voice that empowers positive change and makes a difference in the world.” She aims to achieve this by sharing her passion and love for theatre, music, and dance, through accessible artistic performances and quality education.
