How It Works

Welcome Educators!

There are a number of ways that your school can use the PERFORM! Program.

  • Have a professional teaching-artist give a one-time workshop in Singing, Dance, or Theatre.

  • Have a professional teaching-artist work with your students on a special project in a residency over a week or multiple visits throughout the year.

  • Book a performance to come to your school.

  • Request the one-week intensive Christopher Norton MicroMusical Program to come to your school

PERFORM! keeps it affordable for you by subsidizing half the Artist’s wage for workshops and residencies and covering travel for all activities no matter where you are in Nova Scotia!

Deadline for applications
: Anytime! Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis.

How much does it cost?

Schools pay $35 per hour of the $70 per hour artist fee. There’s a three hour minimum booking time for one-time workshops. For multi-visit residencies, the minimum booking time is two hours per visit.

On presentations, all travel and accommodation expenses are covered by PERFORM!

ADDITIONAL SUBSIDIESIf your school is financially challenged, please contact the PERFORM Coordinator at lily[at]performns.ca for details on additional subsidies for workshops or performances.

WE DON’T WANT STUDENTS TO MISS OUT DUE TO FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS.

Scheduling: Applying at least one month in advance of activity is recommended. There is a two week turnaround for approval of applications. Once approved, scheduling can require some planning with the Artist.
