Tara Taylor, Co-founder and Festival Director for The Emerging Lens Film Festival – 9th yr, filmmaker, playwright, actress, multidisciplinary artist and singer; A current member of AFCOOP, Program Committee – Board Member for Centre; Art Tapes and Bus Stop Theatre, Board member of Melanated Artists Collective and Vice Chair – Diversity Inclusion Lead for the Link Performing Arts Society. A graduate of the Centre for Art Tapes’ media scholarship program, Tara has screened her short films in various places, casted local talent in features and TV shows and has coordinated youth media arts Video Camps. She has produced and directed “Dreamgirls”, “The Color Purple”, “The Wiz” and recently, Viola: The Musical; By day, a Project Manager and Creative Entrepreneur and by night a mom to four beautiful children. Her vision for upcoming filmmakers, artists and musicians from marginalized and underrepresented communities is to see them continue in the industry professionally and successfully.
